NOW THAT’S WHAT YOU CALL A GUARDED RESPONSE

After quitting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh

Khaira floated his Punjabi Ekta Party last week. A launch event was held at Chandigarh Press Club where his supporters and family members were present. Six dissident legislators, who had revolted against the AAP leadership along with him, also showed up. However, they, particularly Mansa MLA Nazar Singh Manshahia and Maur MLA Jagdev Singh Kamalu, were muted in their response and chose their words carefully. Manshahia and Kamalu said they were there to congratulate Khaira, but had no plans to quit the AAP. Manshahia further said that prominent persons in his constituency had advised him not to take any action that would put his membership of the state assembly at risk. Barring Jaitu MLA Baldev Singh, others have not been seen in public with Khaira thereafter. Having second thoughts, are they?
