MINOR BOOKED FOR CREATING FAKE FB PAGE OF MANSA DC

MANSA : A boy has been arrested for creating a fake Facebook account of Mansa deputy commissioner Apneet Riyait.

Mansa police, in collaboration with cyber cell range, Bathinda, had launched the investigation.

“We approached the Facebook management through emails and informed them about the fake account of the IAS officer,” said Ramandeep, an inspector with the Bathinda cyber cell.

“The mastermind behind the creation of these fake accounts is yet to be arrested,” said Mansa SSP Mandhir Singh.

The DC said the case was under investigation.

The accused has been arrested under sections 417 (punishment for cheating), 419 (punishment for cheating by personation) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code.

He has also been charged under sections 66C and 66D of the Information Technology Act.
