CONGRESS MLA NABHA FLAYS LATHI-CHARGE ON TEACHERS

NABHA : Amloh Congress MLA Randeep Singh Nabha has criticised teachers being cane-charged in Patiala on Sunday.

While interacting with the media at his residence in Nabha on Monday, the MLA said, “I fail to understand why the government had to take such violent steps against a peaceful protest.”

“It’s the democratic right of people to protest and express their opinion over any issue. It’s the duty of government to protect people’s rights,” he added.

He added that teachers are ‘nation-builders’ and officials should have tried to solve the issue through talks.

“This way, resentment among the protesters will aggravate, which may prove to be detrimental for the party’s future,” he said.
