RATE CUT BY RBI
The decision to cut repo rates by the Reserve Bank of India carries the risk of being perceived as a monetary stimulus. If the rate is accompanied by transfer of surplus funds by the RBI to the government, this is bound to be seen as a compromise of the RBI’S autonomy.
