In Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh, private medical colleges charge anywhere from ₹50 lakh to ₹90 lakh for a full MBBS course. In Punjab, it varies between ₹50 and ₹70 lakh. There should be a uniform fee structure for all medical colleges under government, semi-government and management quotas throughout the country. In Punjab, government college fee is ₹90,000 per year plus 10% increase in

subsequent years, but in other states, it is ₹5,000 to ₹25,000 per year. The lowest fee is ₹240 per annum of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. The Union government has to regulate fee structure of all MBBS courses to produce quality doctors. Kamaljeet Malwa, Patiala
