Sisodia meets AAP nominees, halqa in-charges on poll plan

SANGRUR: Delhi deputy chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab affairs in-charge Manish Sisodia on Monday held a meeting with all 13 candidates and halqa in-charges from Punjab and discussed with them the strategy for the Lok Sabha elections.

Accompanied by party’s Punjab chief and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann and leader of opposition in the Punjab assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema, Sisodia said party workers will reach out to 26 lakh families of the 13 segments and will share the party’s policies and plans with them.

“All halqa in-charges will start their work from Tuesday and will go door-to door to share the party’s policies with the voters. Around 2 lakh families will be approached in each constituency before the elections in the state,” said Sisodia.

He said AAP has formed an alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party in Haryana and has declared seven candidates in Delhi but denied any possibility of an alliance with the Congress.

“We have announced all candidates in Punjab and are hopeful of winning more seats as compared with the 2014 polls. The Amarinder Singh-led government betrayed the Punjabis as it did nothing in the past two years. We will raise the issues of unemployment and drug menace during the campaign,” he added.

Sisodia said that AAP does not have deep pockets like other parties but their workers are their strength. Mann said the party chief Arvind Kejriwal and other Delhi leaders including Gopal Rai will be start campaigner in the elections.
