BJP creating fear psychosis under security guise: Mufti
SRINAGAR : PDP president Mehbooba Mufti Monday accused the BJP of creating a fear psychosis under the guise of national security to prepare for another Balakot-like strike in desperation to win Lok Sabha elections.
“In its desperation to win this election, seems like misappropriation of our jawans sacrifices & polarising the electorate hasn’t helped BJP. Now they are creating fear psychosis by using national security as a guise to prepare ground for another Balakot-like strike,” Mehbooba, who was an ally of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir from 2015 to 2018, said in a tweet.
“He tried to incite communal riots here and create polarisation. Then he did Balakot attack drama. Now after first phase of elections BJP is seeing a loss, the way a sense of insecurity is being created among people, it appears they are planning to make another attack on Pakistan like Balakot so that they get votes during (upcoming phases in) elections,” she said while addressing the media in Anantnag.
Addressing the party workers at the convention, she urged people to avoid boycott. “Why do you boycott voting? Those who want to vote, they do it and what is the outcome of your boycott. Farooq (Abdullah) sahib became member of Parliament in 2017 by 40,000 votes only,” Mehbooba Mufti said.
“…it is my request to come out on April 23 (to vote). NC and Congress say that they have strength in particular constituencies and people will come out to vote there. PDP’S strength is at many places but people boycott in those places,” she said.
