Modi, Shah rallies in Haryana in first week of May: Barala

-

CHANDIGARH: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah will be holding rallies in Haryana in the first week of May, state BJP president Subhash Barala said here on Tuesday.

The election to all 10 Lok Sabha seats are scheduled to be held on May 12. Interacting with mediapersons, Barala held that the BJP would win all 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state and it had already named all its candidates while the Congress had named only its six candidates to this day.

Asked about the dates of rallies of the two leaders, Barala said while Modi was likely to address his first rally on May 3 or 4, Shah would be holding rallies on May 5 and May 7 as per the initial plan. In all, while Modi would hold about three rallies, Shah would be addressing five rallies in Haryana, Barala said. Besides Modi and Shah, several other national leaders, including Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh, would also hold rallies in the state, he added. Stating that all candidates will file their nominations on April 19 or 20, he said chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, party state in-charge Anil Jain and state Lok Sabha polls in-charge Kalraj Mishra would accompany the candidates on that day. “Neither Indian National Lok Dal nor the INLD’S splinter outfit Jannayak Janata Party, which has struck an alliance with AAP, named any of its candidates so far which indicated they were not confident of their candidates,” he added.
