Two more held for Dalit girl’s gangrape

A 15-YEAR-OLD DALIT GIRL WAS KIDNAPPED AND GANGRAPED IN A MOVING CAR WHILE SHE WAS GOING FOR TUITION IN PANIPAT ON JAN 24

KARNAL: Police have arrested two more people for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old Dalit girl in a locality under Model Town police station in Panipat on Monday.

The accused were identified as Shivam Kumar and Dhruv, both residents of Panipat. On Saturday, police had arrested two accused— Ashish and Ashu of Panipat.

The victim, a Class 11 student was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in a moving car on January 24 while she was going for tuition. The accused have been booked under Section 328, 341, 354 (molestatio­n), 365 (kidnapping) and 376-D (gang-rape) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 6 of the POCSO Act and Section 3 of the SC/ST Act.

LABOURER HELD FOR RAPING 19-YR-OLD GIRL

Police have arrested a migrant labourer for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl on pretext of marriage.

The accused was identified as Rafeeq, a resident of West Bengal and was presently living in a rented accommodat­ion in Noorwala of Panipat.

Women police station in-charge Sunita said in her complaint, the victim accused him of raping her on pretext of marriage on several occasions in past one year. She alleged the accused with the help of his friend also recorded an obscene video and blackmaile­d her of circulatin­g it on social media.

A case has been registered under Section 376 (2), 376 D, 506, 323 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
