Check illegal sale of liquor in villages: Hry power minister

DIRECTS HISAR SP TO TAKE STRICT ACTION AGAINST THOSE FOUND SELLING LIQUOR ILLEGALLY NEAR VILLAGES

HISAR: Power and jail minister Ranjit Singh on Monday directed superinten­dent of police (SP), Hisar, Shiv Charan to check the villages where illegal alcohol is being sold and take strict action against those found selling it in the district. Ranjit Singh was addressing public grievances committee meeting in Hisar on Monday.

He resolved 7 complaints out of 12 presented before him and directed the officers to resolve remaining complaints. Hearing complaints of Sarjeet, Meena and panchayat members of village Bugana regarding illegal sale of liquor in the village, Singh asked the SP to direct station house officers (SHO) to take legal action against those selling liquor in these villages.

Ranjit Singh said Haryana government has recently decided that if the partial population of a village is against liquor, then license for liquor shall not be given to anyone near the village. Singh also ordered suspension of patwari of irrigation department, who allegedly did not allow a farmer to water his field on time.

He said that he attended a meeting of all jail superinten­dents and deputy superinten­dents regarding recovery phones from jails. “I have set a deadline for January 20. If any mobile phone is recovered after that date, concerned jail superinten­dent will be taken to task.”

Barwala MLA Jogiram Sihag, mayor Gautam Sardana, deputy commission­er Priyanka Soni, Hansi SP Virender Singh, MC commission­er JK Aabhi were also present.
