4 dead, 3 injured in Kinnaur road mishap
SHIMLA: Four youngsters were killed and three injured after an SUV plunged into a deep gorge in Kinnaur district on Saturday.
Anshuman Kumar, 20; Om Krishan, 19; Sikander Singh, 20; and Aadesh Kumar, 20, were killed on the spot while Paras Singh, 20, Ankit Chauhan, 19, and Nikesh, 19, all residents of Sangla were injured.
The victims were on their way to Sangla from Raksham when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Kharogala on the Sangla-chitkul link road. The injured were rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Sangla, from where they were referred to the Mahatma Gandhi Medical Services Complex, Khaneri, Rampur Bushahr. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives after postmortem.
Kinnaur superintendent of police (SP) SR Rana said an investigation was underway. The district administration gave ₹10,000 as compensation to the families of the deceased and ₹5,000 to those injured in the mishap.
3 killed as two load carriers fall into gorge in J&K’S Ramban
JAMMU : Three people were killed and two others injured in two separate incidents on Saturday when two Kashmirbound load carriers skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge along Jammu-srinagar National Highway in Ramban district, police said.
“The driver of a mini truck and his helper died when their Srinagar-bound mini-truck rolled down a gorge at Digdol near Ramban,” said a police officer. the deceased are the driver, Rouf Ahmed,32 and his helper Usman Ahmed,18 of
Magerkote in Ramsu.
Earlier, around 6am another truck on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar rolled down a 120-feet gorge near Chamalwas in Banihal.the truck driver, Mayssar Ahmed, 24 of Pampore in Srinagar died while two others, Basid Ahmad and Furkan Ahmad of Pampore, were injured. They were shifted to sun district hospital in Banihal for treatment.
