Haryana logs 15 deaths, 1,299 fresh infections

CHANDIGARH: Haryana recorded 15 deaths and 1,299 fresh coronaviru­s infections on Saturday, as per the medical bulletin. The death toll has reached 1,720 and the total number of positive cases are now 1,57,064.

Among the fatalities, six were from Hisar, three each from Faridabad and Hisar, two each from Sirsa, Yamunanaga­r and Jind and one each from Gurugram, Bhiwani and Fatehabad.

Also, 1,219 more patients have been cured, taking overall recoveries to 1,45,196.

The active cases stand at 10,148. The recovery rate was 92.44% and the fatality rate was 1.10%. The bulletin said there were 192 critically ill patients including 33 on ventilator support.

J& K’s recovery rate crosses 90%

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded six deaths and 577 fresh coronaviru­s infections, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 91,329. The recovery rate in the UT crossed 90% for the first time after 733 patients recovered.

Three fatalities each were reported in Kashmir and Jammu divisions, taking the death toll to 1,430.

Five deaths, 173 more cases recorded in HP

DHARAMSHAL­A: Himachal on Saturday recorded 173 fresh Covid-19 infections taking the state’s tally to 20,213. The death toll mounted to 285 as five more patients succumbed. Three fatalities were in Shimla and one each in Hamirpur and Kangra. Of the new cases, 58 were reported in Mandi, 32 in Kullu, 22 in Shimla, 16 in Solan, nine in Kangra, eight in Hamirpur, seven each in Sirmaur and Lahaul-spiti, six in Una, five in Bilaspur and three in Chamba. There are 2,605 active cases in the state. As many as 17,296 people have been cured so far.
