Sukhbir’s candid talk
Addressing a gathering held by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to protest over recent sacrilege incidents at Golden Temple last week, party president Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Sikhs should take lessons from the Muslims who do not vote for the BJP as it demolished Babri Masjid. “The Sikhs should also refrain from voting for the Congress which attacked their holiest shrine, Darbar Sahib,” he said. Sukhbir had made a similar statement on August 30, 2019, in a closed-door meeting with some religious organisations in Amritsar but ensured that his candid talk did not go public as it might hit the SAD-BJP alliance. But he had no such worries this time.
