Centre must win hearts in J&K

Apropos, “It’s time for the next step in J&K,” during the Prime Minister’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, he announced several projects, which will hopefully bring about a positive change. Terrorism is one of the primary challenges being faced by the government. First and foremost, the Centre needs to win the hearts and minds of the people so that they are not influenced by terrorists. This will allow onground private investment for the development of J&K. However, for this to happen, assembly elections should take place in Jammu and Kashmir and its statehood should be restored. The ongoing delimitation exercise needs to be fast-tracked.
