119 held in 114 drugs cases in Karnal

As many as 119 accused have been arrested in 114 cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act in Karnal district in April this year. Police have seized 5.275kg poppy husk, 12.172kg ganja, 611gm opium, 6.43kg opium plants and 87.593kg banned tablets and injections in these cases. Karnal superintendent of police (SP) Ganga Ram Punia said during the period, the district police have succeeded to send 119 people involved in the trade of contrabands behind the bars to check drug peddling.
