KAMALPREET KAUR FACES BAN AFTER POSITIVE DOPE TEST
India’s top woman discus thrower Kamalpreet Kaur, who finished sixth at the Tokyo Olympics, has tested positive for a prohibited substance in a test conducted by the Athletics Integrity Unit, the body said on Wednesday. Kaur, 26, has been handed a provisional suspension after testing positive for the banned anabolic steroid Stanozolol. The Punjab athlete will remain suspended while seeking the testing of her B sample. An AFI source said Kaur failed an out-of-competition test in March. If found guilty, she faces a ban of up to four years.
