Judicial delays disheartening

While addressing the 11th conference of chief ministers and chief justices, both Chief Justice of India and the Prime Minister expressed their views on revamping the judicial delivery system, including speedy justice to litigants. However, there are many constitutional cases pending before the apex court. At a time when the Supreme Court’s intervention in defence of the constitution and fundamental rights of citizens is most essential, this record of judicial delay is disheartening.
