Prashant’s political plunge won’t be easy
This refers to the editorial, “Prashant Kishor may float a political party” (HT, May 3).
Probably the success of AAP in Punjab after Delhi has encouraged poll strategist Prashant Kishor to take a political plunge. But it will be difficult for him to carry the charisma of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. AAP was a result of an anti-corruption movement. Though Prashant is no stranger to politics having once been associated with JD (U), his real claim to fame is as a poll strategist for various political parties. Most recently, he had made a presentation to senior functionaries of the Congress which suggested ways to revitalise the GOP, but it didn’t go well. His home state Bihar has a fairly political landscape and breaking in there may be quite difficult.
