Armed miscreants loot ₹3.1 lakh from bank in Karnal

KARNAL: Three armed miscreants looted Rs 3.16 lakh from Canara Bank’s Upli branch in Gharaunda subdivision of Karnal, police said on Thursday. As per bank officials, the masked miscreants entered the branch and held the cashier hostage at gunpoint. They took the cash and fled. Police found that there were no CCTV cameras outside the branch. Karnal SP Ganga Ram Punia said police have started investigation and are working to arrest the accused. He said police are also analysing CCTV footages to get clues about the accused. Statements of bank officials have been recorded to register the FIR.
