Curtailing security cover welcome step

Apropos of Punjab cuts security cover of ex-cm Bhattal, Jakhar, six others (HT, May 12), the AAP government’s decision to curtail security cover of political heavyweights is a welcome step. The decision comes close on the heels of a fresh analysis of the threat perception of the political who’s who. The decision should have instead come from the VVIPS, who had been enjoying heavy security cover. Ramesh K Dhiman
