AHMEDABAD: Achieving full coverage of government schemes among beneficiaries ensures an end to appeasement politics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday.

Addressing the ‘Utkarsh Samaroh’ in Bharuch, Gujarat, via video conferencing from New Delhi, Modi said 100% coverage of beneficiaries meant delivering to every section of society keeping in mind ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

“No one should be left behind from schemes for the welfare of the poor. This also ends the politics of appeasement,” he said.

The Bharuch programme marked the celebration of 100% saturation of four key schemes of the state government in the district. “The Utkarsh Samaroh is a testimony to the fruitful results achieved when the government sincerely reaches out to the beneficiary with a resolve,” Modi said.

Lauding the Bharuch district administration and Gujarat government for achieving 100% saturation of the four schemes, Modi said: “Saturation means that the benefit reaches the last person in society.”

Many citizens from marginalised and minority communities were deprived of the benefits of the schemes due to lack of information, he said, noting that the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vishwas’ and honest intentions invariably brought good results.

Modi interacted with beneficiaries of various schemes. He turned emotional while interacting with a visually challenged man and his daughter.
