PGIMS doctors extract iron nails, glass from patient’s body
A team of doctors at Rohtak’s PGIMS on Saturday successfully removed iron nails, glass and other materials from the stomach of a 26-year-old patient through endoscopy. Dr Praveen Malhotra, head of the gastroenterology department, said the patient had consumed some iron nails, sharpedged material and glass nearly 10 days ago. “After complaining of stomach ache, he was rushed to a hospital, from where he was referred to PGIMS. We performed X-ray and then endoscopy and extracted iron nails, sharp-edged material and glass from the stomach of the patient,” Dr Malhotra added.
