Fire tragedy: No lessons learnt

A fire broke out in yet another building, which was constructed without prior approval from authorities concerned and without a nonobjection certificate from the fire department in Delhi. In December 2019, 43 labourers died in a massive fire that broke out in a factory in the congested central Delhi area of Anaj Mandi. No lessons were taken from that fire, or the Uphaar Cinema Tragedy (1997) which claimed 59 lives.
