Plea seeking measurement of ‘Shivling’ moved in trial court
A plea was moved on Tuesday in a trial court seeking proceedings to measure the height, width and length of the “Shivling” which a survey team claimed to have found inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex, said Subhashnadan Chaturvedi, one of the advocates of the petitioners.
Five Hindu women filed the plea before the court of civil judge (senior division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar.
The Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, which manages the mosque, has objected to the application.
The court accepted the plea and fixed May 18 as the next date of hearing.
