Ever since the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government came to power, a number of schemes have been implemented across the state with the aim to improve the health infrastructure. The Punjab Government has established 100 Aam Aadmi Clinics (65 in urban and 35 in rural areas) across the state.

According to officials, thousands of people have started visiting the Aam Aadmi Clinic to avail healthcare facilities. More than 90% of population are now getting medical treatment through these clinics, which has reduced the number of general OPD patients in governmentrun hospitals. Additionally, 98 types of medicines and 41 diagnostic tests are conducted free of cost at these clinics.

Earlier, people staying far away from cities had to travel long distances to reach hospitals. However, they are now able to receive free medical treatment at their nearest Aam Aadmi Clinics. These clinics are wellequipped, have trained nursing staff and infrastructure for smooth functioning. No one has to stand in long queues for booking or taking appointments from the doctor as all the work is being done digitally.
