Disturbing to see juveniles commit heinous crimes

The involvement of juveniles in heinous crimes is a matter of concern these days. Supreme Court, on November 16, said that leniency towards juveniles is emboldening them to commit heinous crimes while delivering a judgment in the Kathua gang rape case. Recently, two juveniles have been alleged to be involved in the murder of Dera follower Pardeep Kataria in Kotkapura. Both of them are in the observation home. Government should constitute a committee of legal experts and social activists to suggest amendments to the Juvenile Justice Act.
