WHAT DOES GOVERNMENT SAY
Dr Ranjit Singh, director, health services, Punjab, said, “All private laboratories will be registered under the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, whenever it is implemented in Punjab.”
“Many states and union territories have already enacted it and we are in the process to follow suit. We are also aware that several laboratories are taking assistance from unqualified staff,” he added.
As per the ministry of health and family welfare, the
Act has taken effect in four states, including Himachal Pradesh, and all union territories except Delhi.
Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Assam have adopted the Act under Clause
(1) of Article 252 of the Constitution.
