STF to attach ₹6-crore property of key accused in paper leak

DEHRADUN: The special task force (STF) of Uttarakhan­d police on Saturday started the procedure for the attachment of ₹6 crore worth property acquired by Hakam Singh, one of the main accused in the Uttarakhan­d subordinat­e service selection commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case.

The move comes after director general of police (DGP) Ashok Kumar said police will start a two-month special campaign from December 1 to attach illegally acquired properties of the accused against whom cases have been filed under the Gangster Act. “A two-month special campaign is being started from December 1 to take effective action against crime and criminals who have acquired properties illegally,” Kumar said “Along with this, strict action will also be taken against criminals carrying rewards on their heads and wanted criminals in the campaign. Special teams will be formed at the district level and the wanted criminals will be arrested. STF has also been directed to arrest the wanted criminals,” he said. “The property of the arrested accused under the Gangster Act in the UKSSSC paper leak case scam will also be attached.
