SANDHWAN: NEED TO MAKE ASSEMBLY PANELS MORE EFFECTIVE

: Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Tuesday emphasised the need for greater transparency and accountability to ensure proper utilization of people’s money besides stressing making the legislative assembly committees more effective and active for the same.

Addressing the representatives of various committees of the Vidhan Sabha and senior officers in connection with the audit week at the office of AG Punjab here, Sandhwan said the role of legislative assembly committees and CAG is very important to ensure proper utilization of government expenditure.

He also emphasized the need for the various departments to discuss the audit paras within the stipulated time.
