Ka­t­rina Kaif’s role in Zero was in­tense, emo­tion­ally drain­ing

Af­ter Thugs Of Hin­dostan, Ka­t­rina Kaif will now be seen in Aanand L Rai’s next, Zero, with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. While Shah Rukh plays a ver­ti­cally chal­lenged man and Anushka plays a sci­en­tist with cere­bral palsy, the buzz is that Ka­t­rina plays an ac­tor who be­comes a chronic al­co­holic af­ter her break-up.

In fact, sources re­veal that Ka­t­rina’s role in Zero was so in­tense, that it took her over two weeks to get out of the headspace of es­say­ing a trou­bled su­per­star.

A source says, “Ka­t­rina’s first look caught ev­ery­one’s at­ten­tion in which she is seen star­ing straight at the pa­parazzi and walk­ing out, sur­rounded by a mob, with di­shev­elled hair and kohl-smudged eyes. This is the first time that she is es­say­ing a char­ac­ter with many lay­ers of highs and lows.”

The source fur­ther adds, “Ka­t­rina truly wanted to sink into this char­ac­ter of a trou­bled su­per­star. Since the role and prepa­ra­tion was ex­tremely chal­leng­ing and emo­tion­ally drain­ing, she took a while to come out of it.”

In fact, we have learnt that when Ka­t­rina was shoot­ing for the role, she was com­pletely fo­cussed and avoided in­ter­ac­tions with peo­ple and other dis­trac­tions.
