COUNCILLORS ACCUSE MC OFFICERS OF DELAY IN WORK
DERA BASSI: Local councillors remained up in arms against the municipal officers and contractors due to their alleged negligent attitude over development works. Where contractors complain of lack of manpower and other resources to speed up the work in scheduled time, councillors allege them of highhandedness in working in the presence of Mohali planning board chairman Narinder Sharma.
The councillors also alleged that tenders could not be allotted to development works worth Rs 11 crore even three months after their approval. Irate over the delay caused, Narinder Sharma snubbed the municipal officers besides summoning all 22 contractors for reply on Thursday.
These tenders were supposed to be allotted after polls, but MC officers failed to allot them. Even, the councillors expressed resentment over the way contractors are running these projects.
