Vandalism at rose fest: 2 cops to face inquiry
CHANDIGARH: A departmental inquiry has been recommended against a head constable posted with the Police Control Room (PCR) along with assistant sub-inspector Jaswant Singh posted at the Sector-17 police station into the incident pertaining to vandalism at Rose Garden during the Rose Festival. The police have found that the cops adopted lax attitude when youngsters were destroying the statues. DSP Kamaldeep had conducted the inquiry and submitted the report to SSP Naunihal Singh. The constable has been found guilty for not sending a PCR gypsy to the spot after receiving information. On the other hand, the role of ASI Jaswant Singh was not up to the mark, as he did not reach the spot even though he was posted at the fest. The police was reported about the damage to statues and pots on display at the three-day festival. A complaint was lodged with the police after three statues, flowerpots and some topiary were found damaged.
