Cop to face inquiry for lapse in investigation
CHANDIGARH: The Police Complaints Authority (PCA) has recommended a departmental inquiry against sub-inspector Rajiv Kumar. The inquiry has been recommended owing to lapse on his part in investigating a case. He was posted with the Economic Offences Wing of the police when the case was registered. The officer was stated to have acted in "arbitrary and malafide manner in conducting the investigation" in a case. The incident dates back to February 2010. A cheating case was lodged against Col Amardeep Singh (retd), a resident of Sector 9, on the compliant of his sister Anupam Deep Kaur. She had alleged that her father Dr Gurcharan Singh, 92, had a joint account with her in a bank from which Amardeep withdrew money using his father's ATM card and duped her.
