Students of Classes 3 to 5 wrote letters and made cards for their parents to show how much they love them. The purpose of the trip was to promote science knowledge among students. The students enjoyed the trip and learnt many facts. GSSS, Sector 38 (West), Chandigarh The NSS Units and the Mahatma Gandhi Student Legal Literacy Club of Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 38(West), Chandigarh, jointly organised programmes on ‘Save Environment and Importance of Trees’. Rajeshwar Singh, law officer, State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh, planted a herbal sapling on the campus and then flagged off a rally. Anee’s School, Kharar On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Anee’s School, Kharar, engaged themselves in Rakhi-making activity. The children used beads, satin ribbons, sequins, motifs, laces and silk threads to make Rakhis. The British School, SAS Nagar The students of The British School, SAS Nagar, went to Thunder Zone fantasy park. They enjoyed an extensive range of rides like the swinging chairs and Columbus. The highlight of the day was the wave pool in the wet park, which gave students the feel of a real sea. They were even offered refreshments by The Hindustan Times Group. Satluj Public School, Panchkula Legal Literacy Club and Junior Chamber International (JCI) was launched at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. The topics discussed were protection from domestic violence, dowry prohibition, human rights, female foeticide and hygiene. Principal Krit Serai said the Legal Literacy along with the JCI also organised many competitions such as painting, slogan writing, poetry, essay writing, debate and declamation. St Vivekanand Millennium School, Pinjore Blood and eye donation camp was organised at St Vivekanand Millennium School, HMT Township, Pinjore. A free eye check-up camp was organised for the parents of students. As many as 75 units of blood was collected and 90 people gave their consent to donate eyes. GMSSS, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 32 C, Chandigarh, celebrated Van Mahotsav on the school premises. Director, forest department, Santosh Kumar presided over the function. A skit on “Save Trees’ was enacted followed by songs and speeches. AC National Public School, Zirakpur The students of AC National Public Senior Secondary School, Zirakpur, celebrated the festival of Teej on its premises. The students performed folk dances and participated in drawing and mehandi applying competition. GMSSS, Manimajra The NSS unit of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Manimajra, celebrated Van Mahotsav Week on the school premises. On the concluding day, members of Inner Wheel Club along with student members of Eco Club and NSS unit planted saplings of herbal plants such as aloe vera, sada bahar, tulsi in and around the school campus.
