2 PSEB clerks sit on hunger strike
AROUND 130 DISMISSED CLERKS, WHO ARE SITTING ON PROTEST, RAISED SLOGANS AGAINST THE GOVT AND BOARD MANAGEMENT
SAS NAGAR: With no relief in sight, two of the 134 suspended clerks of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) sat on hunger strike demanding reinstatement.
While intensifying their protest alleging that the Punjab government had failed to give back their jobs despite promises made in this regard, Rekha Rani and Rajan Bala started their hunger strike on Monday.
Around 130 dismissed clerks sitting on protest raised slogans against the government and board management.
President of the 134 dismissed clerks’ union Raghbir Singh Rana said, “We are tired meeting senior officials and political leaders for being reinstated as they failed to honour our commitments. Even Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had agreed in principle during the cabinet meeting held on January 3 last year but nothing has been done since then.”
