CHANDIGARH: The members of India Against Corruption (IAC) continued their protest in support of crusader Anna Hazare’s demand for Jan Lokpal Bill on Monday.

The agitation was held near Hanuman Mandir in Sector 20 during which different section of the society participated and raised anti-government slogans. The agitators expressed their outrage at the apathy that various governments have shown towards the need of having a Jan Lokpal. Leading the agitation, Rahul Bhartiya, IAC coordinator said, “Since the past one year we have been fighting for Janlokpal but in the recently concluded budget session, the Lokpal was again put in deep freezer by sending it to a selected committee.”

Bhartiya added, “It has been 44 years since the Lokpal was envisioned but it still seems to be a distant possibility. Even in the current Union cabinet there are 15 tainted ministers, many of whom would have been in jail had a strong Lokpal been there”.
