HOLD REGULAR MEETINGS

Should the municipal corporation councillors be held accountable for the unspent funds in their respective wards? The councillors should plan in the beginning of year on how to spend the ward development fund so that development could take place throughout the year. Moreover, councillors should hold regular meetings with resident welfare bodies of the ward to address the problems and then spend the money accordingly. We have noticed that most of time, funds remain unspent due to lazy attitude of the councillors, who do not give requisitions of demands to MC. MC officials should also ask the councillors to identify and prepare a list of projects they want to undertake in their wards in a year.
