80 em­ploy­ees of Prime Fo­cus de­mand re­in­state­ment

SAS NA­GAR: About 80 em­ploy­ees of Prime Fo­cus com­pany, in Phase 8 B, In­dus­trial Area who were laid-off held a protest out­side the of­fice on Tues­day de­mand­ing re­in­state­ment.

The protest­ing em­ploy­ees of the com­pany said that they have been em­ployed with the com­pany for the last 18 months and at the times of re­cruit­ment they were asked to de­posit a se­cu­rity of Rs 30,000 each. The pro­test­ers al­leged that the with­out any prior no­tice the com­pany has thrown them out of the job and has de­nied to re­fund the se­cu­rity amount de­posited by them.

Tak­ing into con­sid­er­a­tion the slo­ga­neer­ing of the em­ploy­ees po­lice was de­ployed at the gate to en­sure that no law and or­der sit­u­a­tion arises.

“I have re­ceived a rep­re­sen­ta­tion from the sacked em­ploy­ees and have asked the SDM to look into the mat­ter,” said deputy com­mis­sioner Varun Roo­jam.

This is the third time when the em­ploy­ees have re­sorted to strike in last 18 months. On the pre­vi­ous two oc­ca­sions the mat­ter was sorted af­ter the man­age­ment had met their de­mand of in­cre­ment. The em­ploy­ees al­leged that the man­age­ment had sacked them with­out prior no­tice and have also de­clined to re­turn the se­cu­rity de­posited by them. The em­ploy­ees are also con­sid­er­ing pur­su­ing le­gal re­course.
