Rup­na­gar ad­min­is­tra­tion gears up for Kabaddi World Cup matches

RUP­NA­GAR: The district ad­min­is­tra­tion is gear­ing it­self up for the three matches of the Kabaddi World Cup to be held at Nehru Sta­dium on De­cem­ber 7.

To take stock of the prepa­ra­tions, deputy com­mis­sioner Pardeep Ku­mar Aggarwal held a meet­ing of the de­part­ments con­cerned at Nehru Sta­dium on Thurs­day.

While talk­ing to me­dia per­sons af­ter the meet­ing, Aggarwal said the matches would start at 12 pm and con­tinue till evening.

The first match would be played be­tween men’s teams of Ar­gentina and Kenya, the sec­ond be­tween women’s teams of US and Malaysia, while the third match would be played be­tween men’s teams of Iran and US.

The DC said deputy chief min­is­ter Sukhbir Singh Badal was ex­pected to come to Rup­na­gar for the kabaddi matches.

He said a new look was be­ing given to the Nehru Sta­dium for the matches, and seat­ing, park­ing and se­cu­rity ar­range­ments were be­ing made for smooth con­duct of the matches.

He said singer Gulzar La­ho­ria would per­form dur­ing the matches.
