Rupnagar administration gears up for Kabaddi World Cup matches
RUPNAGAR: The district administration is gearing itself up for the three matches of the Kabaddi World Cup to be held at Nehru Stadium on December 7.
To take stock of the preparations, deputy commissioner Pardeep Kumar Aggarwal held a meeting of the departments concerned at Nehru Stadium on Thursday.
While talking to media persons after the meeting, Aggarwal said the matches would start at 12 pm and continue till evening.
The first match would be played between men’s teams of Argentina and Kenya, the second between women’s teams of US and Malaysia, while the third match would be played between men’s teams of Iran and US.
The DC said deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was expected to come to Rupnagar for the kabaddi matches.
He said a new look was being given to the Nehru Stadium for the matches, and seating, parking and security arrangements were being made for smooth conduct of the matches.
He said singer Gulzar Lahoria would perform during the matches.
