TEQIP-2 TO BE LAUNCHED AT UICET ON MON­DAY

CHANDI­GARH: Te c h n i c a l Ed­u­ca­tion Qual­ity Im­prove­ment Pro­gramme (TEQIP-2) will be launched at Dr SS Bhat­na­gar Univer­sity In­sti­tute of Chem­i­cal En­gi­neer­ing and Tech­nol­ogy (UICET) of Pan­jab Univer­sity (PU) here on Mon­day.

UT ad­vi­sor KK Sharma will be the chief guest at the in­au­gu­ral func­tion.

Un­der the pro­ject, UICET would get a sum of Rs 10 crores, of which Rs 7.5 crore will be given by min­istry of hu­man re­source de­vel­op­ment and Rs 2.5 crore by the Chandi­garh ad­min­is­tra­tion.

The pro­ject would strengthen the ex­ist­ing PG cour­ses for en­cour­ag­ing in­dige­nous de­vel­op­ment through in­no­va­tive ven­tures, en­hanc­ing em­ploy­a­bil­ity of stu­dents by strength­en­ing in­dus­try-in­sti­tute in­ter­ac­tion, re­search base of the in­sti­tute by strength­en­ing doc­toral-level pro­grammes and upgra­da­tion of lab­o­ra­to­ries.

It will serve the com­mu­nity by pro­vid­ing qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion and re­search fa­cil­i­ties.
