Family protests, demands evidence
Investigation is going on in a transparent manner. All evidences will be shown to the family in a day or two as we are still awaiting the postmortem reports.
AMRITSAR: The parents of Simran Kaur, who allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in a classroom, protested outside the Jagat Jyoti Senior Secondary School at Rani Ka Bagh on Tuesday.
The parents are still waiting for her post-mortem reports and concrete evidence from the police related to her suicide. School director Mukesh Puri said, “They are not trusting anyone.” The agitated protestors carried placards displaying ‘we want justice’ and ‘beti padhao beti marvao’.
Few Shiv Sena activist were also part of the protest.The protesters were demanding proof that it was a suicide.
Simran was cremated on Sunday but due to security concerns director Puri and others could not make it to the cremation. Simran’s uncle Hardeep Singh said , “Puri and others should have come for the cremation atleast as Simran was their student. He is not even listening to our demands.”
Hardeep demanded a case against Puri. “The police is supporting the school authorities,” said Hardeep. He also said that the protest will go on till their demands are not met.
Station house officer (SHO) Sushil Kumar said, “Investigation is going on in a transparent manner.
There is nothing to hide from the family.” “Even during the post-mortem, videography was done. Hard disc of the CCTV footage provided by the school has been made. All these evidences will be shown to the family in a day or two as we are still awaiting the post-mortem reports.” said Kumar.
Puri said, “We are fully cooperating with the police. But now this doesn’t seem to be just a protest, it seems to be a financial blackmailing tactic. Some outside elements are influencing the protest. ”
Puri also told that till now the family has raised no demands but their sources have told them their intentions.
