BJP Parivartan Yatra: Party to decide CM face, says Dhumal
DHARAMSHALA: Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister (CM) Prem Kumar Dhumal said the party high command and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will decide the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) CM face for the upcoming assembly polls in the state.
Dhumal was addressing a public meeting at Ghana village on the arrival of BJP’s Parivartan Rath Yatra in Dharamshala assembly segment on Sunday.
“Wining ability will be the criteria for ticket distribution in the assembly elections and candidates who fulfil that will be given tickets. Party is conducting a survey to search for such candidates,” the former CM added.
The BJP veteran slammed the ruling Congress regime alleging that government has deceived the people of the state. “While mafia is ruling the roost, people continue to reel under various problems,” Dhumal said.
“All sections of the society, agriculturists, orchardists, employees, students and women are discontented with the government,” Dhumal added. He said that ₹150 crore, alloted as unemployment allowance for 12 lakh unemployed youth, was just an eyewash while several government employees are still waiting for the monetary benefits.
He also accused the Congress government for changing the names of the schemes launched by the previous BJP regime.
Former minister Kishan Kapoor, former Rajya Sabha member Kripal Parmar and office bearers of BJP’s Kangra district unit were also present on the occasion.
