Wife visits Ram Rahim in Rohtak jail after 50 days
ROHTAK : For the first time since he was awarded 20-year imprisonment in two cases of rape, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s wife Harjeet Kaur visited him in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail on Monday.
Harjeet was accompanied by her son Jasmeet Insan, daughter-in-law Husanpreet Insan, daughter Charanpreet and sonin-law Ruh-e-meet. The family members reached the jail in the afternoon in a four-vehicle cavalcade amid tight security.
Though it was his wife’s first visit to the jail, it was the third by his other family members,
Interestingly, Ram Rahim had not given his wife’s name for verification to authorities in the list of 10 visitors he wants to meet in the jail. The list had included the names of his adopted daughter Honeypreet and dera chairperson Vipasana Insan.
Meawhile, the jail superintendent did not respond to HT’S repeated phone calls to find out how his wife was allowed a visit

when she was not in the list given by the dera chief.
It is learnt that the family brought Diwali sweets and winter clothes for the Ram Rahim on Monday. The meeting lasted for half an hour, and was scheduled as per alphabetical order, according to the jail manual.
