This refers to ‘Taj Mahal has no place in history’ (HT, October 17). BJP MLA Sangeet Som’s comments on the ‘blots’ on Indian culture indicate the growing religious intoleranc­e in the country. Calling Taj Mahal a symbol of tyranny on Hindus or the argument that the maker executed his own father is gibberish. From the Mauryas to Haryankas, families have killed each other in quest of power. They weren’t Mughals or ‘Muslims’. Instead of wiping off important historical events from the textbook, the government should focus on real issues. Inderjit Singh Jaijee,

Chandigarh (Ht-october 14), this will dilute the spirit of natural justice and equality. Earlier, the SC bench of Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel and Justice Uday Umesh Lalit had rightly taken cognisance of the criminal misuse of Section 498A and issued guidelines to curb the misuse of dowry act on July 27, 2017. The government must support the case with data.
