FMS announces admission for MBA & PHD programmes

REVISED GUIDELINES The University of Delhi’s premier management school has reduced the weight of the Common Admission test for admission to Bschools from 85% to 60%

NEW DELHI : The University of Delhi’s premier management school, Faculty of Management Studies has announced admission for MBA and doctoral programmes for the academic session 2018-20.

Candidates can apply for the programmes online till November 20. Those applying for the two-year MBA programme must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks for general candidates with those in final year of study also eligible to apply.

The final merit list will be drawn on the basis of the following factors: the CAT 2017 score will weigh 60%, marks obtained in Class X and XII will carry a weight of 5% each, group discussion will weigh 10%, extempore will weigh 5% and the personal Interview will make 15% of the final score.

Women candidates will receive 3% extra scores while appearing for the interview.

Those who do not appear for CAT will not be considered for admission.

For the purpose of building a diverse student intake, a composite score will be computed to shortlist the candidate pool for admission.

This score will be generated by assigning a weight of 30% each to the quantitati­ve aptitude and data interpreta­tion sections and a score of 40% to the verbal reading comprehens­ion sections. The diversity point of 3% for women will be added to this final score.

Currently, 200 seats are up for grabs for the MBA programme with 101 seats available for the general category candidates.

For the doctoral programme, student intake is 30. Candidates can consider applying to the following areas : organisati­onal behaviour, human resources management, marketing management, management of informatio­n technology, financial management, strategic management, production and operations management, management science and managerial economics.

Those who have obtained a Master’s degree or an Mphil degree from any recognised university in an allied subject equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible to apply for the doctoral programme.

Those with an MBA degree must take the CAT 2017 to be eligible for the PHD programme.

Certain candidates are eligible for exemption from written tests for admission to doctoral programme. The conditions of exemption may be checked on the institutio­n’s website.

However, all shortliste­d candidates are required to appear for an interview.

Foreign nationals who are not currently staying in India must apply via the respective consulate/embassy with a mandatory minimum GMAT Score of 650.
