No car, but CM has more jewellery than his wife
SHIMLA:EVEN as he is facing a disproportionate assets case, chief minister Virbhadra Singh’s assets have gone down as compared to that in 2012.
As per an affidavit on properties and assets filed on Friday, along with his nomination papers, the octogenarian leader has assets worth ₹13.69 crore and liabilities of ₹39 lakh.
In 2012, Virbhadra’s asset worth was ₹34 crore while his liabilities were ₹24 lakh.
Interestingly, though the chief minister’s wife Pratibha Singh owns more assets than him, the former’s jewellery assets are more than his wife. Virbhadra Singh owns jewellery worth ₹50 lakh while his wife Pratibha Singh has jewellery worth ₹47 lakh.
Neither Virbhadra nor Pratibha own a car.
As per the details furnished by the octogenarian leader, who is leading the Congress campaign this election, his movable assets are worth ₹7.16 crore while his immovable assets are worth ₹6.54 crore. Virbhadra Singh has ₹5.50 lakh cash in hand while his wife has ₹50,000 cash. Pratibha Singh has immovable assets worth ₹14.31 crore and movable assets worth ₹2.51 crore.
Virbhadra Singh owns agriculture land in Damrali and Rampur worth ₹6.34 crore while Pratibha Singh is the owner of land in Sarahan worth ₹12.08 crore.
Singh also owns non-agricultural land worth ₹19 lakh while wife has property worth ₹2.23 crore. Virbhadra Singh has liability of ₹39 lakh as house building loan availed in September 2017.
Virbhadra Singh is facing a corruption case currently in the Patiala House court. In connection with the Enforcement Directorate probe, assets of Virbhadra Singh and his family members’ properties worth ₹ 40 crore were attached over the last one year.
