IT WAS LEARNT THAT THE POLICE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE FORENSIC REPORT OF THE VEHICLE, USED BY GARRY TO TAKE AWAY SUKHPREET, TO GET SOME CLUES ABOUT SUKHPREET

AMRITSAR : Is 32-year-old Sukhpreet Kaur, assistant professor of Hindi department of Guru Nanak Dev University, allegedly kidnapped around five months ago on September 11 by Jazzinder Singh, alias Garry, 30, of Kharar in Mohali, from a restaurant outside the university, alive or dead?

The question is still puzzling the Amritsar police and all concerned after kidnapper Garry committed suicide in a guest house in Goa on September 21.

It seems that the police have also surrendered as it has failed to find any clue about the whereabouts of Sukhpreet.

A senior officer of the Amritsar police, related to the case, said, “We haven’t found anything in the case. We have tried to solve the mystery through all angels, but in vain. We will try to adopt another strategy of finding the victim from Thursday.”

It was learnt that the police have been waiting for the forensic report of the vehicle, used by Garry to take away Sukhpreet, to get some clues about Sukhpreet.

The police officer said, “Perhaps there is nothing in the report and that’s why it has not been released.”

The car of Garry was sent to the lab Kharar around three months ago fora forensic probe.

Sukhpreet Kaur went missing on September 11 and the incident came to light four days later after her father approached the GNDU authorities when he received a ransom message from her kidnapper. She used to live in one of the university’s faculty quarters on the campus.

During search of her room, the police came across a note mentioning the name of Garry and a life threat from him. The police launched a massive search operation to trace the woman professor and Jazzinder, examined many CCTV footages, but failed to trace them.

The police investigation had hit a roadblock when Garry committed suicide.

The police had also found a suicide note of Garry mentioning that he was innocent.

After suspecting that the accused might have killed the victim and then committed suicide, the police then had also requested the police of the neighbouring states to intimate them in case they find an abandoned body of any woman.

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

There are many questions related to the case which remain unanswered: Why did the victim accompany Garry with consent, if she suspected a life threat from Garry in her note? Why did Garry kidnap her? Why he committed suicide? and where is Sukhpreet now?
