We won’t resort to vendetta politics, says Himachal CM
ANNOUNCES RS 5 CRORE FOR GOVT DEGREE COLLEGE, RS 8.5 CRORE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY SCHEMES AND HRTC SUBDEPOT IN KANGRA’S JAISINGHPUR
DHARAMSHALA:CHIEF minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday said his government will not resort to vendetta politics but the non-performers will be face the music.
The CM said this while addressing a public meeting at Shivnagar Jaisinghpur assembly constituency of Kangra district. He announced Rs 5 crore for Government Degree College Shivnagar, drinking water supply schemes worth Rs 8.5 crore and a sub-depot of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).
He said his government was open to suggestion from the general public as it is the government of the common man.
Stressing on the need to change the tradition of alternating power in the state and said the BJP was seeking to rule the state for the next 20 years with the cooperation of the people.
The CM also expressed gratitude to the central government for sanctioning Rs 10 crore for the Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
The programme will cater to the people living in remote and inaccessible areas near the international borders with a primary objective to create additional infrastructure in border areas, he said. Irrigation and public health minister Mahender Singh Thakur, urban development minister Sarveen Chaudhary and health minister Vipin Singh Parmar were present.
WORLD WETLAND DAY FUNCTION TOMORROW
The CM will preside over the state-level world wetlands function to be organised at Jwali on February 2. The function is being organized by the State Council for Science, Technology and Environment in collaboration with different departments.
The theme of this year’s World Wetlands Day is ‘wetlands for sustainable urban future’. The day is celebrated internationally each year on February 2 to mark the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention).
