On Tuesday, Kashmiri’s wife Suman and four minor daughters were rushed to hospital. The police initially suspected it to be suicide attempt by the woman and she might have poisoned her daughters as well. All of them were shifted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak.
Two days into treatment, one of the daughters, identified as Komal, regained consciousness and registered her statement before the police, stating that all of them were forcefully poisoned by their father.
“The girl informed that her father used to beat them up regularly and keep them hungry for several days. Few hours after registering her statement, in presence of a magistrate, the girl died. Later, two of her sisters also passed away,” said Alewa SHO Hari Om.
Police said efforts are on to nab the accused who is on the run, adding that the bodies have been handed over to the family after autopsy.
