Hindustan Times (Chandigarh) - - HTPUNJAB&HARYANA -

GURUGRAM:A woman going to pick her children up from school sustained minor injuries when her car overturned and hit the side pavement as she applied brakes to avoid crashing into an autorichshaw that had suddenly changed lanes. The accident took place inside the Rajiv Chowk underpass, near the mini secretariat. The autorickshaw driver fled, police said.

The woman was identified as Ritu Sood and was driving towards Subhash Chowk when the accident happened. The impact was largely reduced by the air bags in the car.

“To avoid a collision, the driver applied brakes, which made the vehicle flip over. Passersby came to her rescue, and pulled her out of the vehicle. She was rushed to Medanta-the Medicity hospital for treatment,” head constable Anil Panchal, the investigation officer in the case, said.

“We were informed about the matter around 5pm. We recorded the car driver’s statement. However, she did not want to file a complaint. We filed a daily diary report at the Sadar police station in this regard,” the investigation officer said.
